Directors: Ian Frankton BSc (Hons) MRICS FFB
Ian started his career in Quantity Surveying in 1995. As part of his placement year for his BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying, in May 1997, Ian joined a small traditional PQS Practice based in Birmingham. As Ian’s placement year was coming to a close, he secured a position as an Assistant Surveyor with a medium sized PQS Practice based in Leamington Spa, where he continued to develop his technical and professional skills, working with a Senior Surveyor on the delivery of several multi-million pound retail developments for a large national retailer. Ian successfully completed his degree in 2000.
In the period from 2000 to 2004, Ian’s career changed direction, as the majority of his experience had concentrated around the private sector, and in particular the retail sector. Ian decided to seek a new challenge and took up a new position as a Project Surveyor, working for a PQS Practice in Coventry, where his work was predominantly in the Public Sector, which brought a new depth to his development and experience. In November 2003, Ian successfully completed his Chartership and became a member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
From 2004 to 2010, Ian worked his way up the career ladder within two large multi-national PQS and Project Management organisations, and secured an Associate Director’s position from January 2006 to 2010. Ian’s experience included working in many sectors including Commercial, Health, Education & Defence. Ian also took on the position of UK Defence Sector Champion from 2008 to 2010.
Ian set up his own Practice and formed Frankton Hill Ltd in January 2010.
Ian is also the Coventry & Warwickshire RICS Chairman (2010 to date), and has a seat on the RICS West Midlands Regional Board (2010 to 2013).
Ian was the Chairman of The Forum for the Built Environment (Fbe) Coventry & Warwickshire branch from 2008 to 2010, and is currently the Fbe West Midlands Regional Director.
Ian is also a Licensed APC Assessor for the RICS.
Ian’s interests include regularly playing Squash, watching Rugby, Motorsport and is a keen supporter of Coventry City Football Club.
